Bathroom and Toilet Cleaning Techniques

When cleaning your bathroom and toilet, details matter a lot. It's key to sanitize every surface, especially near the toilet, sink, and shower. This keeps your space clean and healthy.

To sanitize your bathroom and toilet right, you need the right products and tools. Here are some helpful tips to start with:

  • Use a disinfectant spray or wipes on all surfaces, like the toilet seat, handle, and lid.

  • Don't forget the sink and shower areas. Moisture here can lead to mold and mildew.

  • Scrub the inside of the toilet bowl with a brush to remove any dirt.

Preventing mold and mildew is also important. Make sure your bathroom is well-ventilated. Clean and dry surfaces often, especially after use. By following these steps and using the right products, your bathroom and toilet will stay clean and free of mold and mildew.

Last minute Valentine or Anniversary idea that is easy on the wallet:

Part A: “ME” pics, a great way to start the day.

  1. Take 1-2 photos of you in close up poses of you holding a black sign.

  2. Print multiple copies of each pic. As many as you want. I printed 45.

  3. On each “ME” pic, write (on the blank sign) things you love about your mate.

  4. If desired, laminate them.

  5. Place them in areas for your mate to discover them. (i.e. lunchbox, car windshield, refrigerator, wallet, bathroom mirror, ect…). I even placed some at the grocery store for him to find.

When my husband woke up that morning, I gave him a letter along with the 1st “ME” pic, mentioned above, so he would know what to look for.

Part B: Recreating our 1st date. Dinner and a movie.

The first few years of our marriage, my husband and I were working on getting out of debt. That meant we didn’t have a lot of extra money to spend on an expensive celebration.

I asked my husband, Michael, to meet me at the place we 1st met. For us, this was at an Arby’s. He found me waiting, with tablecloth and candle sticks, at the table we sat at to get to know each other.

As part of our adventure, Michael received scavenger hunt clues. Included in the first clue were tickets that led him to the movie theater where he had to ask the ticket counter for a package which was a special gift. (I had dropped it off before dinner and explained what was happening. The staff were great and willing to help.)

Check out the gift idea below.

After opening the gift and enjoying the movie, Michael had a few more clues to solve. The 2nd one directed him to the grocery store where he spent the next 15 minutes finding clues all over the place.

Each clue gave a suggestion of what the final treat of the night would be: bananas, cherries, caramel, whip cream, and ice cream…. banana splits, snuggled up on the couch to share and eat.

The Gift: Personable, easy, and budget-friendly

Want an easy gift that will blow their socks off? My husband is just as sentimental as I am and that gave me the idea of taking certain meaningful places and showcasing them.

Using Google Maps, I looked up the place we met, the place we married, and the place we live and printed them out on colored paper.

I then took 3 sheets of paper and printed: Met, Married, Live on them and cut hearts out of each page to lay over the google map printouts.

Heart stickers were used as my “pin” points for the maps and framed it with a frame I already had.

How easy is that? Ten years later, it is still hanging on our wall.

Thanksgiving Traditions

Since 1984, our mother has hosted a Thanksgiving Dinner at her house. It started off small with just my Aunt & Uncle coming to eat with us but over the years it has exploded. Now, it can be as large as 75 people and has not just family but friends as well.

There are 3 traditions that we see every year:

  • Everyone is welcome. No matter who you are. Stranger, distant family, neighbors… as long as you come with a loving heart. No fighting allowed!!

  • We always have a relish tray of sweet & dill pickles, green & black olives, carrots, celery, cherry tomatoes, cauliflower & broccoli, and cheese cubes, for the early arrivals to munch on.

  • The game “spoons” can be seen in action. It’s talked about months before at the family reunion. At least 3, possibly 4, generations, playing together. And there are rules that we take seriously: No rings and no long nails. Battle scars have proven these rules must stay in place.

Add meaning to your Thanksgiving with free printables…

1 page, 4 to a page (size print 8.5 x 11)

2 pages (size 11 x 8.5) 1 white, 1 brown

What’s next for me? Christmas Planning of course.

Christmas, the happiest time of the year….. or is it? For many, it can be very stressful.

And, for me, it was. Money was the primary cause and I had to make a change. A Christmas Budget was the beginning to enjoying the Holidays again.

Step 1. A Christmas Budget… the plan

After we say “so long” to Halloween, Christmas is just around the corner and we begin our preparations. Not the decorating, since our family celebrates a huge Thanksgiving, but we do start with the planning.

Step 2. Time to choose… the prep

Now that we know how much we want to spend, we can start making choices. And when we have choices, we can control the stress level.

We can choose:

  • * Who are we buying for?

  • * What types of activities we will be doing?

  • * How much time do we want to give and how much do we keep for ourselves?

Step 3. Enjoy, Relax… and Go

With the work you put into making the Holidays just right, don’t forget to take some time for you.

Then just sit back and enjoy.
